Made from Tempranillo and Garnacha, this Crianza is aged for one year in American and French oak barrels, resulting in a bright cherry-red wine with a clean, medium layer.

On the nose, floral and red fruit notes dominate, with a touch of creamy oak in the background. On the palate, it’s fruity, balanced, and fresh, thanks to the blend of grape varieties and its oak aging. This combination creates a wine that is both complex and easy to drink.

Martín Zurbano is highly versatile, pairing perfectly with any meal: from simple appetizers and elaborate tapas to rice dishes, fish, or white meats. Our suggestion? Pair it with a cheese platter and a seafood paella for an unforgettable experience.

This wine is named after the Spanish liberal military leader who managed the estate from 1839 to 1845 thanks to his war achievements.

A careful selection of grapes from the best vineyards brings this Gran Reserva to life, made from Tempranillo and Graciano. The combination of traditional harvesting methods with innovative processes ensures the highest quality.

The wine is aged for at least 24 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by more than 36 months in the bottle. This extended aging gives it a ruby-red color and an extraordinary complexity and elegance on the palate.

Finca Monasterio, where the Benedictine order began planting vineyards and producing wine in 1568, holds a special place in the origins of Barón de Ley.

Made from Tempranillo grapes grown close to the winery, this wine benefits from extraordinary care. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

This deep, cherry-red wine reveals black fruit compote on the nose, complemented by spicy and balsamic aging notes. On the palate, it is powerful and complex yet fresh.

The perfect pairing for this iconic wine includes grilled red meats, stews, and game. For example, a beef stew with potatoes and vegetables.

Finally, we present Barón de Ley Siete Viñas Tinto Reserva, a wine made from the best native grapes cultivated in Barón de Ley’s four estates. As the name suggests, it features seven varieties with different ripening times and temperatures: Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Blanca, Mazuelo, Viura, and Malvasía.

Each variety is aged in different barrels for 36 months, followed by 12 additional months in French oak foudres at the monastery cellar. The result is a brilliant purple wine.

On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe berries, violets, and roses, with hints of spices and vanilla. The palate is elegant, balanced, and richly nuanced. This “Total Rioja” has also won several awards.

Our pairing suggestion? A juicy beef tenderloin with potatoes. However, this versatile wine is also perfect for enjoying on its own.

Fundada en 1985, la bodega Barón de Ley se encuentra en una finca con mucha historia que se remonta varios siglos atrás. Exactamente, a 1548, cuando el conde de Eguía compra un gran terreno a orillas del río Ebro y se lleva a cabo la construcción de la Finca, un precioso castillo-fortaleza, sobre el que hoy se asientan nuestras instalaciones.  

Diez años más tarde de su construcción, es la orden benedictina quien pasa a encargarse del edificio y empiezan a desarrollarse las primeras actividades vinícolas en la zona. Unido a la historia de la Finca debemos destacar la figura del general Martín Zurbano, quien la ocuparía en 1839 hasta su muerte. Fue uno de los primeros héroes románticos de España, impulsado por sus ideas y la lucha por la libertad. En su honor, en 2022, sacamos al mercado Martín Zurbano Crianza, un vino fresco, frutal y equilibrado en boca que sorprenderá a los más fieles enófilos. 

 Siglo y medio más tarde surge nuestra bodega tal y como la conocemos hoy, inspirada en los prestigiosos châteaux franceses y rodeada de más de 600 hectáreas de viñedos propios.  Gracias a la riqueza de sus suelos y la variedad climática, nuestros enólogos pueden explorar con uvas autóctonas, concretamente diez variedades diferentes, para combinar lo mejor de los clásicos con propuestas más innovadoras.

En esas más de 600 hectáreas de viñedo propio, en La Rioja Alta y Oriental, dentro de la Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja (D. O. Ca Rioja) cultivamos variedades tintas y blancas autóctonas, como Tempranillo, Garnacha y Graciano. Desde el principio de nuestra andadura, Barón de Ley está especializado en la elaboración de vino Reserva y Gran Reserva. Aunque esto nunca nos ha limitado para ofrecer a nuestros clientes una gama de vinos innovadora y extensa, con ricos blancos y rosados que han conseguido el mismo reconocimiento que nuestros vinos “líderes”. 

 Actualmente, exportamos alrededor del 85% de producción a más de 50 países, convirtiéndonos en una de las bodegas más prestigiosas de la D.O. Ca Rioja y del país. 

Gracias a las técnicas llevadas a cabo, a lo largo de nuestra trayectoria, la bodega Barón de Ley ha recibido numerosos premios y distinciones en certámenes internacionales, como la reciente medalla de oro con 95 puntos en el International Wine Challenge a Barón de Ley Gran Reserva 2017, lo que subraya el compromiso con la calidad de nuestros vinos.  

 Cada uno de ellos está elaborado para expresar el carácter único de su origen, con un enfoque de calidad y autenticidad. Con cada botella Barón de Ley queremos ofrecer un producto que rinda homenaje a la herencia vinícola de La Rioja. 

El entorno histórico de la Finca no solo aporta un distintivo a la bodega, sino que también representa el respeto que mantenemos a nuestra tierra. Si algo hemos tenido claro, siempre es nuestra apuesta por mantener la tradición vinícola de la región, combinándola con técnicas de vinificación más actuales e innovadoras.  

Desde sus comienzos, Barón de Ley ha sido vanguardista en la producción de vino reserva, destacando la importancia de la crianza en barricas de roble americano. Esta técnica permite elaborar vinos con una complejidad y profundidad de sabor extraordinario.
